Head: Prof Stephen Duffy [Bio]

The General Cardiology unit works in close collaboration with the other sections of the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, and provides comprehensive care for virtually all cardiovascular conditions. As a tertiary referral centre we treat all general cardiology problems in our local community as well as being a state-wide referral centre for specialised conditions and procedures. We also work in close collaboration with the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery. A full range of inpatient and outpatient general cardiology services are provided. These include management of acute and chronic ischaemic heart disease, arrhythmias, valvular heart disease and heart failure. We also offer a complete range of non-invasive and invasive cardiac investigations and have active interventional coronary artery disease, peripheral vascular disease and structural heart disease programmes.
